Sometimes we all can feel a bit down, whether it is because of our health, darker days in winter, or depression and anxiety. But nature is on hand to help with some tasty food to help beat the blues.

Oily fish provide essential fats for brain function.  Try and eat a couple of portions of oily fish in a week.

Protein rich food at every meal is important to help build serotonin- the feel good hormone – food like eggs, meat, fish, seeds, pulses and houmous are all good.

Try and cut down on sugar.  It will help to switch to healthy snacks if we want to boost our mood

Magnesium is the mineral needed for balanced mood and producing energy.  Leafy greens are a great source of magnesium.

Although it’s not a food, exercise is a great way to boost your mood especially if you can get outdoors.  A short walk or a cycle with some fresh air and sunlight will work wonders.
